Once again we say "hello" from the banks of the Lower Mountain Fork River... The fish have been quite active, however they have been very selective and hard to fool... At times all they will take is an extremely small fly... Most folks have difficulty fishing such a small fly.. Very small midge patterns have done well, and some of the small soft hackle patterns have produced good fish... Nothing substantial has changed since last week... If fishing insect flies in zone 2, use a very small midge... Otherwise use a minnow immitation, or possibly a crawfish immitation.... In zone one lots of flies have been working.... The wooly bugger has been producing the most fish, but the Elk hair caddis, Humpy, Royal Wulf, stimulator and other dryflies have done well.... We heard of about 6 rainbows over 18 inches caught last weekend... We did measure a holdover rainbow at 23+ inches... The fish would not revive .. It will most likely be hanging in some ones den soon... very nice fish... Dont expect to catch a fish that large, but it is possible.... Come see us when you can, The coffee pot is on... Thanks folks,,, We would not continue to be here without your support... We are Sid and Peggy, Beavers Bend Fly Shop, Located in the park, at the bridge, right alongside the river.... One day we will discuss how your purchases at our shop helps the Oklahoma park system.... Thats another day.....Thanks again folks.
